SMSPLIT command

Splits a flange.

Description

Splits a flange along a polyline drawn along a face. It splits lofted bends along the line on the ruled surface. (Short for Sheet Metal Split).

Method

There are three methods to split sheet metal:

Split
Smart Split
Smart Split Propagate

Options within the command

Select lines or edges to split the flange: Splits the flange according to a selected line or edge.

Center: Splits along the center of the polyline.

Left: Splits to the left side of the polyline.

Right: Splits to the right side of the polyline.

Accept: Accepts the suggested way to split.

SMart split: Splits the flange at a specified point.; Note: Make sure the 3D entity snaps are toggled on to be able to pick points on the flange.

Propagate: Automatically suggests multiple splits of a similar type.; : Selected suggestion. Click to switch to not selected.; : Not selected suggestion. Click to switch to selected.

draw a New line: Gives the option to draw a line on a selected flange to split the flange.; Note: Make sure the 3D entity snaps are toggled on to be able to pick points on the flange.
